The Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon, Chen Chuandong, visited Al-Amiliyah School, where he met with Mr. Youssef Beidoun, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Al-Amiliyah Charitable Association, and held a friendly exchange with teachers and students.
Mr. Youssef Beidoun presented the history of the school and its educational situation, thanked the Chinese Embassy for its support, and expressed his hope to expand cooperation with China in the field of education.
Ambassador Chen Chuandong emphasized that valuing education is a shared tradition of both the Chinese and Lebanese peoples, and that China is willing to provide assistance to needy Lebanese groups to the best of its ability. The ambassador visited one of the classrooms, interacted with teachers and students, answered their questions, and encouraged students to learn the Chinese language, understand Chinese culture, and strengthen Chinese-Lebanese friendship.
During the visit, the embassy donated laptop computers to the school. Al-Amiliyah School was founded in 1928 under the Al-Amiliyah Charitable Association and is a comprehensive school providing education from kindergarten through secondary level.
