Silk Road -The presidents and leaders of the United States, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey signed a comprehensive document on the agreement between Hamas and Israel at the summit held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, on Monday. The White House published the contents of the document of guarantees signed by the mediators in Sharm el-Sheikh regarding the promotion of peace and prosperity in the region after the signing of the “Gaza Cessation of War Agreement.”
The document stated that the signatory countries welcome the true, historic commitment and implementation by all parties of the peace agreement reached under the auspices of US President Donald Trump, which has ended more than two years of profound suffering and loss and opens a new chapter for the region, one of hope, security, and a shared vision for peace and prosperity.
The signatories also affirmed their support for President Trump’s efforts to end the war in Gaza and achieve a lasting peace in the Middle East. They will work together to implement this agreement in a manner that ensures peace, security, stability, and opportunity for all peoples of the region, including Palestinians and Israelis.
The document indicated that lasting peace is one in which both Palestinians and Israelis can prosper while ensuring their basic human rights, protecting their security, and preserving their dignity.
It also affirmed that true progress is achieved through cooperation and ongoing dialogue, and that strengthening ties between states and peoples serves the lasting interests of regional and global peace and stability.
The signatories also pledged to work to resolve future conflicts through diplomatic dialogue and negotiations, not through force or protracted conflict. They noted that the Middle East cannot afford a continuous cycle of prolonged wars, stalled negotiations, or partial and selective implementation of agreements.
The document highlighted the aspiration to achieve tolerance, dignity, and equal opportunity for every human being, regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity, as well as the resolve to eradicate extremism and radicalism in all its forms.
The document also referred to the pursuit of a comprehensive vision of peace, security, and shared prosperity in the region, based on the principles of mutual respect and a shared destiny. In this spirit, it welcomed the progress made in establishing comprehensive and sustainable peace arrangements in the Gaza Strip. It also affirmed the pledge to work collectively to implement and sustain this legacy and build institutional foundations on which future generations will thrive together in peace.
