South Korea topped the list with 867.2 thousand visitors in October
Government data released Tuesday showed that the number of foreign visitors to Japan in October rose by 17.6% compared to last year, reaching about 3.9 million people, marking the second-highest monthly figure ever recorded.
Data from the Japan National Tourism Organization indicated that South Korea topped the list with 867.2 thousand visitors, an increase of 18.4%, followed by China with 715.7 thousand visitors, up 22.8%.
Visitors from China accounted for 18.4% of the total number of foreign visitors to Japan, according to the German News Agency (DPA).
The total number of foreign visitors to Japan from January to October 2025 reached about 35.5 million.
